  Love this parish! We are a volunteer community and we work together as a family to help all. My mom. Was a southerner and loved to sing her hymns loud and she loved her fried chicken. She was never a racist. Our parish loves all and works hard for the El Dorado County community.

  I am a disabled veteran that walks with a forearm crutch. There is no specific disabled seating but there are detached chairs at the end of some isles. I asked an able bodied woman for hers and she said "no". She got up to take communion I was stuck in a row. That same day the Monsignor preaches to the congregation to think outwardly and of others and not inwardly. So I went to the Church office with my concerns about lack of access. The receptionist gave me the line about appreciating my service and so on. I left my number expecting a call about disabled access and communion for the disabled. Three weeks and no call. Outwardly thinking, yeah right. Very inwardly thinking people here and you will get it after about 6 months. There are some great people here too, just so very few. We just left this church and are no longer members.

  We had such an unpleasant experience at this church this Easter day. My husband, kids and I came to visit my parents and was looking forward to a beautiful mass to attend together. Before the mass started, the music director of the church was announcing the music and said now let's act like those Baptist people and and shout out the song and was demonstrating how it should be done in a very exaggerated way mocking the Baptist religion and said if you do a good job I'll give you some fried chicken Afterward!" I could not believe my ears! How could this man make such ignorant remarks in church? I felt so sad my husband and children who are mixed had to hear such hateful, disgusting words from someone in the church. The other sad thing is, a lot of people found it funny. This was not the first time I had a weird experience at this church when it came to race, but this time it wasn't subtle racism. It was in your face obvious. Hope the church takes corrective action and teaches love and acceptance. Had to talk to my kids about ignorance and racism, it's everywhere.... Even at church
